Inktober #14 – Ada Lovelace

Inktober014

Stepping back in time once more. It’s 200 yrs since the birth of Ada Lovelace. The only legitimate child of Lord Byron, she was a widely acclaimed mathematician and is credited with writing the first algorithm intended to worked through by a mechanical machine. As such, many see her a the first ever computer programmer. Little known to many (me included) for the last 6yr there’s in face been a Ada Lovelace day designed to celebrate women’s achievements in the fields science, technology, engineering and maths. I’ve been on the look out for a few last Inktober pieces and when I read this Ada just had to make it into my thirty-one 2015 Inktober drawings!

So along with my WI one from the other day. Here’s to women everywhere!
